Yin Yoga is a quiet yet profound practice. I highly recommend it for my clients and patients with Vata and Pitta imbalances or those who are particularly in need of respite and physical restoration. If you are grappling with hormonal imbalances, insomnia or heightened stress at home or work, Yin Yoga is a form of Restorative Yoga that can magically ground you and shift your perspective. Better yet, you do not need much physical prowess or experience in order to benefit from this comforting style of yoga.
Yin Yoga uses long-held relaxed floor postures to stretch and stimulate the deep connective tissues of the body. All practitioners are welcome regardless of their yogic background, tradition or experience. This practice will strengthen the Chi flow and help maintain the health of the meridian system of the body.
In his 3 hour practice/workshop, Art Grigorian will give you everything you need to make Yin Yoga part of your regular practice. The session ends with a 15 minute basic Chi Gong (Energy Cultivation) practice, a Nadi Shodhana Pranayama (Alternate Nostril Breathing) – a powerful breathing practice to bring both masculine and feminine energies to a balance, and guided meditation.
