The book includes over 250 recipes specifically designed to balance each constitution according to Ayurveda theory, with an emphasis on simplicity, ease and sound nutrition. It is a mainstay of Ayurvedic practitioners and anyone practicing Ayurvedic cooking. Amadea Morningstar, M.A., a Western-trained nutritionist, and Urmila Desai, a superb Indian cook, wrote the book to share what they had learned through a variety of healing traditions. The book provides menu plans, Ayurvedic nutrition, tridoshic perspectives (solutions for a family comprised of people with different constitutions) and ways to make dietary changes that last. The book is well-organized and includes lots of great tips on various food categories. As a very visual eater, I just wish they had budgeted for a few photos as well.
